Veteran instructor Tina Langdok has taught yoga and mindfulness for nearly three decades.  Tina’s international studies include accreditation from Spain’s Mindful Academy International and her work with Integrated Yoga Therapy has been recognized by professionals and students throughout the United States, Europe, Costa Rica, and Kenya.

“The healing benefits of yoga and mindfulness are well recognized,” says Tina.  “In an effort to overcome physical and emotional challenges, I began a practice over forty years ago that I continue to this day.  Curiosity and compassion are part of the process.”

The energy body – which the ancient teachers called Prana - has been the focus for Tina’s study and teaching throughout her professional life.  Tina incorporated Prana and the power of breath into her son’s journey to overcome cancer in 1993 and she continues that work today with a variety of clients that include Dr. Scott Stieber.  Following a diagnosis with ALS, Dr. Scott’s work with Tina is chronicled in the acclaimed short documentary Pizza & Prana.  Tina uses the practice of Prana with clients who have neurological disorders as well as those who struggle with food, sleep, grief, anxiety, and emotional distress.

An avid traveler, Tina can often be found teaching and experiencing new knowledge in remote parts of Peru, Kenya, Costa Rica and Nicaragua.  A trustee for Kenya’s Loisaba Community Conservation Fund, Tina makes visits annual visits to work with a Maasai women’s empowerment group called The Chui Mamas.  Tina holds an undergraduate degree in Biology and a Masters Degree in Spanish.

WHAT IS PRANA?

Prana is an Sanskrit word that describes the energy resource deep inside each of us.  Prana plays a vital role in wellness, balance, and healing.  Neuro-science supports Prana as an effective pathway toward balance and wellness that can be accessed through numerous practices which will be the focus of these workshops.

Mindfulness Meditation

Breathwork

Visualization and Awareness Training

Body Scanning and Yoga Nidra

Mudras or hand gestures

Tina’s work has been highlighted in the short film, Pizza & Prana which features Dr. Scott Stieber, MD and his collaboration with Tina as they apply the Power of Prana to Dr. Steiber’s experience with ALS.

“Tina Langdok's innovative workshops help practitioners explore the power of Prana and open the doorway to greater awareness, balance, and health.  Her decades of experience with yoga therapy and understanding of applied neuroscience can help each of us heal through the mind-body connection.”

Dr. Ron Reimer, Neurosurgeon.  Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, FL

“If you feel lost, disappointed, hesitant, or weak, return to yourself, to who you are, here and now and when you get there, you will discover yourself, like a lotus flower in full bloom, even in a muddy pond, beautiful and strong.”
― Masaru Emoto, The Secret Life of Water

TESTIMONIAL
Tina’s treatment of the MBSR course material is excellent.  She does an excellent job of balancing the delivery of new material with practice and class discussions.  She leads by example and is very practiced in leading meditation sessions.  This course had a lasting impression on my life and I’d recommend it to anyone who is considering Mindfulness for the first time or someone who has practiced for years.
